Some Rule for Writing


1.  Do Not use text message language.
2.  Do Not use &, w/, or s/he.
3.  Always write out the numerals one through nine.
4.  Each new paragraph is to be indented five spaces.
5.  Do Not number paragraphs.


Be able to differentiate between the following:

there, their and they're
to, too, two
hear, here
deer, dear
weather, whether

A New Semester

Greetings;

January 23rd was the first day of second semester for you all, so cheers to a new beginning.  We will be  taking the lessons from last semester using them as building blocks for your future assignments.  

As this is the beginning,  I will take a moment to remind you of the rules for my classes and for Suitland High School as well.  Paying attention to these guidelines will help you achieve success both academically and behaviorally.  

ID cards are to be displayed at all times.
You are to be in full schoo uniform when entering my class.
No hoodies, cell phones, iPods or ipads, ect. are permitted.
You are expected to be in class on time every time.

Supplies:
Blue or Black ink pens ONLY
loose-leaf paper
a three-ring binder
a composition book

You are expected to bring YOUR OWN supplies to class.

All class work is to be done in blue or black pen.  Work done in pencil or other colors will not be accepted. 

Assignment which are submitted typed must be in the MLAformat.

Extra credit work is given along the course of the grading period at the time it is earned or as essays in response to SAT or other writing prompts.


Remember :  Education is cheap, but ignorance is very expensive.
